Thrifted top/heels/skirt, Bloom blazer, Kelsi Dagger tote
You guys have gotten to know me pretty well, so when I say these vintage-inspired mustard heels are my favorite thrift find of all time, you know I'm serious.
I was about to leave Goodwill empty-handed when I decided to look through housewares. I found these heels lying behind picture frames on a lower shelf. I'm guessing somebody had hid them and was planning to come back for them... which was a risky, amateur move. Two things you should never leave unattended around me: cute shoes and french fries.

ReplyDeleteOh I know, Megan. I once was looking for thrift shirts for my husband and I came upon a darling blue and striped cotton skirt from the GAP. It was only $3 by the time I applied a 20% off coupon. Oh ya, I snatched it right up. There was going to be a 50% off sale the next day and someone had stashed it in the men's shirts. Great plan, unless a gal is shopping for her man. I love that skirt. I wear it year round I have a post on it "Couture Mode" of a few weeks ago. View? Your mustard shoes are so hot and I am so glad you discovered the stash. That has happened to me oh ya, more than once. Every time I find something in the wrong part of the store. Oh ya.

ReplyDeleteOkay, so here's a thrifting etiquette question. I don't think it's very cool to hide clothing, and if I stumble upon something obviously misplaced, I often pull it out so that the stockers can put it back where it belongs. Is that uncool?

My eyes flew right to those fabulous shoes! I have massive shoe envy now. I wish I could find shoes when I thrift. You don't come across many pairs of size 11s and if you do, there is a 50% chance they look like nurse shoes. Love the whole outfit!

I agree, I don't think it's cool to hide stuff throughout the store to purchase later... which is why I really didn't feel bad buying these shoes and potentially "taking" someone else's find. I must admit I am guilty of hiding an item or two in the men's section in the past - but it was only to run to the ATM :D
