Thrifted top/jeans/bag/shoes
Please excuse the stamp on my right hand. We went out Saturday night and this is my hungover Sunday brunch outfit - French toast with a side of aspirin, please.
We had a lot to celebrate... Kevin started a new job, hockey is back (wearing my team's colors in this post), and we signed a lease on a new place! We're moving into a cozy duplex in March. It's a little run-down, but nothing that my collection of bird knick-knacks can't

Bigger closets. Very important.
ReplyDeleteI love that sweater on you! Hangover or not, you look smashing!
It sounds like a lot of great things are happening! I have no doubt that your killer DIY skills and stle will make your new place feel like home in no time!

Hockey, huh? Something I didn't know about you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found a new place- that's so exciting. And bigger closets are definitely important. I kicked Curtis's stuff out of "our" closet two years ago. I had to.
I spent my weekend yelling at my hockey team on TV. Such a love/hate relationship with them right now haha.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new duplex and Kevin's job! Can't wait for pictures.

Bigger closets are of course a reason to be excited to move! I am so happy for hockey to be back on too.
ReplyDeleteLove this cozy looking sweater, perfect casual brunch look
This outfit looks unbelievably comfortable, but still so cute! I'm glad you've got your head on straight and realize that a house's best trait is the size of the closet. After all, every girl knows, size DOES matter, amiright? :)
ReplyDeleteLove the post title haha. My boyfriend is a major hockey fan so for his sanity and happiness, I too am glad its back (I sewed all weekend while he watched games- perfect balance haha!) Love the cozy sweater and congrats on the new place- you can't go wrong with a bigger closet!
ReplyDeletexo Hannah
Such a cute outfit! I'm so excited hockey is back too! Congratulations on the new place!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to have bigger closets. The lack of closet space might be the biggest stress on my relationship...haha. Congrats on the new place and I hope the French toast cured the hangover.

You looks great! I wish I looked that cute with a hangover. Bigger closets! My biggest dream ever! I always try to shift clothes from the closet to the attic and back. Not fun!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about living with a boy roommate is that he doesn't care about closet space at all and invited me to use his. I love it when he asks permission to take one of my 2200 coats off its hanger so he can use just one in our shared foyer closet.
ReplyDeleteThis looks comfortable and cute at the same time, which I really think is the holy grail of clothes.
how cool is that background! especially when it comes to the last photo. great effect!
ReplyDeleteoh and I always love it when someone wears a totally thrifted outfit! nice job ;) stripes are always lovely.

ReplyDeleteHa-ha yeah I was in the same boat as you on Sunday for the same reasons minus celebrating a new job and new lease... so really just Hockey! :) I love how you had your team colors in this outfit!

Duplex living is the way to go. We live in the basement of a 1960s house; it's cheap for the area considering that we have three rooms in addition to the kitchen and living room. At first I thought your purse is one I just sold at my etsy store, but it's just really similar. - Leah, leahwise.com
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this is you hungover, you look really fresh and pretty. I love the length and cut of those jeans, they look made for you. Yey for new house!

ReplyDeleteVery impressed that this outfit is all thrift finds - you have a gift!
ReplyDeleteBig closets are like a direct line to happiness. Moving into our normal-sized-closets place after Boston made more of an impact on my good mood than I should probably admit. Congrats on all your fun celebration-y news!
ReplyDeleteI love this look! I can appreciate a nice sweater, great-fitting jeans and simple flats. So cute and fashionable! Congrats on his new job!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very put-together hungover outfit - I'd be lucky if my top was on the right way! ;) Super exciting about the move - bigger closests?? That's definitely the most important factor :)

ReplyDeletehi Megan! Yay for bigger closets any time. Great you have such great news all the way around. Your cleaver humor is so great, too. (french toast with a side of aspirin, please) hahahhaha.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new place, new job, and hockey in no particular order. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting your bird knick-knacks yet, but perhaps in a future post...and they are birds, or are they ducks. You have revealed your artistic genius by painting those bold paint strokes behind you. {Wink} Love it.

Yay for new places! Ty and I live in a grungy 70's-era apartment that is the size of my thumb, but it is OURS and we love it. Plus, the dog fur matches the has-seen-better-days-carpet perfectly! I say, What dog fur!?

This is you hungover?! Not fair, Megan. I actually look like Gollum. My hangovers are the worst/scariest thing anyone could ever witness. I kind of need that sweater in my life, so cute! Congrats to you and Kevin on all the exciting new happenings!
ReplyDeleteAlex xo
How fun about moving someplace new, good luck with your packing in the upcoming months! (And yay for hockey, hockey is way too much fun to play!) I love how laid back your outfit looks, it's very cool and casual. (And are those pants teal? My computer is old and a little screwed up but I swear those pants look teal! either way, they're awesome.)
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL. Your style is so effortless.
ReplyDeleteI found you on Bloglovin and I'm so glad I did! You have a great blog. I'm following you now!

Love the simple look (and it's a pretty dang cute one for being a hungover outfit!). This dark teal pant thing you have going on looks amazing with your red hair. :D
ReplyDeleteIf only I could look that good on my hangover days. I'm not 18 (err... i mean 21) anymore... :P

Awesome outfit! The bag and pumps - I need!
ReplyDeletexxx
Hi Kate! Thank you :) Look forward to seeing you around here!
ReplyDeleteYes, they're teal :) My hockey team's (Sharks) colors are teal and black, so I had to represent!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, Gollum. Doubtful! You are always stunning.
ReplyDeleteNo! I wish! I have dreams about owning a walk-in closet.... and I never want to wake up.
ReplyDeleteCorinne, I usually thrift 1-2 times per week depending on work/life/etc. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love older places with character and charm! I bet yours is darling :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sheree! I'll take a look at that post.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have a fairly large collection of bird knick-knacks... pillows, wall decorations, etc. Mostly all sparrows, no ducks. Maybe I'll do a house tour once we move in!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better, Jen! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, maybe I'll do a house tour! :) And once I got home from brunch, you better believe I put on some fuzzy socks.
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes! I'm a huge hockey fan... we're Sharks fans. Who's your team?!
ReplyDeleteSHARKKKKKKKKKS! I grew up in San Jose until moving to San Diego for college years ago. Megan, we need to talk more. It's decided. (Whether or not you agree.)
ReplyDeleteCute hangover outfit! My hangover secret is Vitamin B12. Lollipops. Also Emergen-C.
ReplyDeleteThat was my subtle {lame} way of suggesting your team was The Anaheim Ducks, LOL. I thought the Ducks wore teal and black, but I see they are Shark colours. Gak! NHL teams shouldn't be allowed to change their colours.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater = so me.
ReplyDeleteYES! Agreed, we do need to talk more :) I am so excited that you're a Sharks fan!
ReplyDeleteYour thrifting skills are simply admirable! I love this simple outfit.
