Welcome to Our Nest

IMG_9730_1

I think wreaths instantly make a house look more cozy and inviting. I couldn't find one in stores that felt very "me", and I wasn't willing to spend more than $20 on some twigs, so I decided to make my own.

I started with a really simple base (from the $1 bin at Target!) and personalized it with items from the craft store. I'm excited to tweak it next month for Christmas.

 1. Cut and pull out branches from your base wreath to make it look more natural and messy.
2. Start sticking in other twigs, branches, flowers and/or leaves. Get creative!
3. Add bird(s).

Wow, Megan, that looks amazing!! Wreaths are really lovely, but it is hard to find one for the right price. I am so impressed that you made your own.

I love this! I make my own wreaths, too. It is so much less expensive and you can make it your own. I've never added birds but you know I will now! Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!

It turned out so cute! I make all of my seasonal wreaths too. I think it is more fun than just buying one.

That's so cute. The bird is the perfect personal touch. I'm also strangely jealous that you have a purple front door.

bellissimo!!! It's a very elegant garland! I made a xmas garland with red butterflys, but maybe it's time to change this year! ;)

I love how it turned out! Your diys are the best, because they look like things I could actually do. Half the stuff I pin I go back and wonder what I was thinking...I'm not Martha Stewart!

Really pretty! I have one for Winter and Spring/Summer, but Fall ended SOOO soon that I didn't even have time to think about one like this ! Now the snow has melted so I guess we could call this Fall time - again. :D

Have a lovely weekend!

I love it! we used to have something like that too, with red (fake) berries but guess what happened..
some cute birds thought they should eat our fake berries and ruined the whole thing. so no wreaths for us anymore, haha.
