Thrifted sweater/hat/bracelet,
Gap jeans,
Steve Madden Boots, French Connection bag
I wasn't going to buy this sweater, but my mom ended up snagging it at the last minute and getting it for me. (Thanks, mom!). That was 3 weeks ago.
I brought it home, sat it in the corner of the bedroom for one week, and finally found it while
cleaning throwing everything into the closet. I washed it and hung it out to dry, which took almost 2 full weeks. I am an impatient person - I can't even wait 2 minutes for a microwavable enchilada to cook, let alone 2 weeks to wear a new sweater. Now that I've washed the stranger off of it, that sweater is never touching water again - deodorant and perfume will be the closest it gets to clean.
Haha, I have a thrifted sweater that always takes days to dry - it's so annoying! Let's just say it only gets washed when it really, really needs it.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for moms! That is a really awesome sweater - I am so glad she got it for you! Also, how cute is that hat. What a lovely autumn look :)
really wonderful, the colour suits you so much and I like how you paired it with that beanie :)
ReplyDeleteThis sweater is fabulous - I love the length and the colour really suits you :-)
ReplyDeleteI have clothes that just take so much effort to wash. My dry clean only things see the dry cleaner maybe every 6 months. That sweater is gorgeous and was totally worth the wait.

hahha 2 weeks to clean and dry? how about dry cleaning it? although that takes effort to drive to and from...

That is one awesome thrifty find!
ReplyDeletehaha, I hope you're not going to wear that sweater too often then :P my sweaters are almost dry already when coming out of the washing machine btw..
ReplyDeleteanyway, I think it's the perfect wintery outfit. really cute!

By not washing the sweater, you can save the earth by saving water too! Haha! Kidding aside, you look very cute in the autumn-themed sweater!

Wow...2 weeks! What kind of fabric is it???
ReplyDeleteYour sweater story reminds me of my recent sweater thrift find. It took about 2 days to dry.
Cute & cozy look!
Nooo dry cleaning is my worst enemy! I refuse! :D
ReplyDeleteIt's just a thick cotton. I shouldn't fully blame the sweater... I dried it out on our patio and kept forgetting to flip it over so one side stayed damp. Then it got really dewy one morning and the process started allll over again. Oops ;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not! And that's awesome that your sweaters are almost dry - I guess our washer's spin cycle is crappy or something because when I pulled this one out it felt like 30 pounds of soaked dog hair!! :D
ReplyDeleteloving outfit, love the sweater and the color is perfect for fall :)
ReplyDeleteI'm having a jewelry giveaway starting today, make sure to enter and good luck :)

What a great sweater! I'd be impatient to wear it if it was me!
ReplyDeleteI love your bag, I'm sure I've told you that before when you carry that one, but I really like it!
Not washing clothes while wearing a beret, eh? Too easy of a cultural stereotype, that is. Seriously, though, the sweater looks amazing, like you could burrow in and make the most comfortable nest of an outfit out of it. Definitely a good find!
ReplyDeleteWashed the stranger off of it! HA. And TWO weeks? Holy crap. Of course it is never going to touch water again.
ReplyDelete2 weeks, yikes! I wouldn't have the patience to wait that long either. You look adorable in the hat...love this cozy winter look.

Haha, I'm pretty much the opposite of patient too. That's a great sweater, I think it was worth the wait!
ReplyDeleteThat's a seriously amazing oversized sweater. Every time I try to thrift something in that vein, it looks less rumpled-chic and oversized-glam and more dumpy-with-excessive-armpit-fabric. Kudos to your momma. Good eye. And worth the wait, for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'll also commiserate about the impatience thing. I've eaten so much cold-in-the-center pasta it's obscene and I once hand-washed an acrylic sweater which shrunk to the size of a toddler... if I'd thrown it out on day 2 like I was inclined to do, I wouldn't have seen it magically stretch back out on day 6.
LOVE this sweater - amazing thrift find. seriously. it looks so comfy!
ReplyDeleteThis sweater is so gorgeous, the perfect colour and oversized fit!! I can't believe it took 2 weeks to dry...that's wild, yeah don't ever wash it again
ReplyDeletexJennaD
Great sweater. I don't know what to call that color (camel?), but I love it. It took two weeks to dry? That's nutso!
ReplyDeleteIn person it's definitely a puke green color. That's not a very pretty description, but I don't know how else to explain it ;)
ReplyDelete"Now that I've washed the stranger off of it"--LMAO! Well put. I am very impatient as well, I don't know that I would've been able to wait very long, but the wait was worth it. This is a great color on you and I love the hat as well. I think I have that same sweater actually (also thrifted) in this like cadet blue color--what brand is it?
ReplyDeleteLooks so cozy, love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your mom bought this for you! It's really so cute, and perfect for fall days when you want to feel extra cozy.

I love a good cableknit :) Looks great on you :)
ReplyDeleteIt would make me SO antsy to have a new sweater and not be able to wear it too! Plus, it would annoy me that it had to sit out in plain sight drying for so long, haha. You look super cute & cozy though, so it was definitely worth the wait :)

Love the sweater and it compliments your hair! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove that awesome jumper! I'm an impatient person too. To the extent that I probably wouldn't have bothered washing it. Gross I know ;)

Dang, two weeks!? That is some patience. I would have probably just sucked it up and wore it while it was still wet....ehhh...maybe not...but it was definitely worth the late! It looks so good on you!
ReplyDeleteYou look perfect in hats!

I think it is so funny that when I do laundry 99% of it is the boys, and only 1% of it is mine (mostly socks and undies), because I am soooo particular about how I clean everything else, and turns out, Febreeze does wonders to "stranger smelling" knitwear. Those this color and cable knit on you pretty lady!

That sweater is seriously the Ideal Sweater...perfect length, roomy enough to be comfy but not too big to make you look sloppy, plus an interesting design and color. I really need to hit the thrift store more often.
ReplyDeleteReally, you weren't going to buy this sweater? I'm glad you did - it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! :)
