*Heels, Dress*
This weekend I attended a conference for work. I've gotten used to working from home, and it's definitely much easier to sound professional and make corny jokes over the phone than it is in person. Acting like a real adult for 3 days was tiring!
My duty was basically 'professional schmoozer'. I met and chatted with lots of people who have more college degrees than I have shoes. While everyone carried on intelligent conversations, I carried away multiple glasses of wine from the bar.

Wow, I love that dress! You look stunning :) Haha, it is so hard to schmooze and make small talk with random professionals. I wish networking weren't so important.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! It can be boring to chit chat with people you don't really know! :P you look great in this dress though and I'm sure you looked smashing that day as well :)
ReplyDeleteA professional conference sounds like my worst nightmare! But free wine would definitely make it better. This dress is amazing on you! You look super fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love this dress on you! You look amazing!! And schmoozing is hard sometimes, eh? The wine probably made it all better though :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you looked great doing it! :)
ReplyDeleteReally pretty and classic look. Those Missoni for Target heels are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely lovely! Adorable dress x
ReplyDeleteoh this is such a beautiful dress!
ReplyDeletewhat kind of conference was it? an scientific conference? these are always real "horror"-trips for me, I feel a bit "stupid" next to all these brilliant genious people... I with my little (one!) degree from university...
So I can totally understand why it was a bit tiring for you!
xxx Anita
Sounds like exactly what I would have done (with the wine) :) You look gorgeous in this dress - absolutely love the pattern!

ah so jealous you were able to snag some heels from the Missoni X Target collab. they look so chic paired with your printed dress!
ReplyDeletesounds terrifying! i HATEHATE schmoozing and do not possess the necessary skills to do it successfully. much wine would be needed indeed. at least you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteLOL@ pro shmoozer :) Im loving your shoes!
ReplyDeleteyou look very professional but still fierce! hahaha hopefully the shoes were comfy (they look it)
ReplyDeleteI love the dress!!! Very pretty!!

Great dress! Love the fit and the pattern. And I agree, schmoozing is definitely tiring!
ReplyDeleteRebecca (hearts)...
Love this dress on you!
ReplyDeleteBut I completely disagree. I have such a terrible time communicating over the phone, in person is so much easier. I think the lack of body language makes it difficult for me. I'd love to work from home but I'm afraid my inept phone skills will make that impossible.
I like!! That is such a cute dress! Perfect for an work event! :)

ReplyDeleteSounds all too familiar, I used to have to travel around a ton for my old job with...ready for it?... Nuclear medicine doctors and technologists... Yeah about that wine.
ReplyDeleteYou look great, especially love the shoesies!

What a perfect outfit! Love how you styled the heels too, have yet to wear mine with a dress!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I generally despise work conferences. Its just a bunch of forced small talk and pretending to care. :P. At least there was wine! And you look great! Love that dress.
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit! It is a great color on you. I regret not getting anything from the Missoni for Target collection!

You were one of those people who were awesome enough to get something from Target's Missoni collection!! Very cute and very shmoozy :) Okay now I think you should help me craft a plan to get some Jason Wu...you in or what!?
ReplyDeleteLove the print on the dress - almost like camouflage but not quite so literal. And the colors look great too!
ReplyDeleteHaha. This outfit looks incredible on you. I love the pattern of the dress. I tried to buy those shoes the other day but they were out of my size :-/

Perfect outfit for schmoozing! I'm the opposite--I clam up and get nervous on the phone but feel much more comfortable in meetings face-to-face, as long as those meeting with think I'm as charming as I do (kidding!).
ReplyDeleteAlso, perfect redhead colors, bravo!
haha i love how you describe them having more degrees than your shoe collection. i agree- sometimes it's hard to be all adult. love the dress!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress and totally love your description of life as a working woman....yep, sounds about right.

ReplyDeletethat's quite a pretty dress, girl! business-y enough but classy and cute.

I wanted this to be called you schmooze, you booze... but you went for the classy route. That's cool! Love good finds at Ross and TJ Maxx! And I LOVED the last line in this post. Perfect sentiment!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you made the most of it! Love the way you've styled the Missoni pumps - the colors are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love your dress and heels! You look gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, professional schmoozer huh? xD

Such a chic outfit! These shoes are one of my favorites from the Missoni for Target line, but sadly I missed out on them :(
ReplyDeleteOh geez, that sounds super stressful! I commend you for it! Large groups of people make me hide! You look fabulous, though!
ReplyDelete-Katie
Oh man, what a great way to spend 3 days of your life haha. I would have made a permanent home at the bar if I were in that situation as well.
ReplyDeleteNice dress! Such a unique and lovely print....and those heels are pretty much perfection.

Haha I don't blame you! That's a super awkward situation. Your outfit is cute though (which is all that matters, right? right.) I love the print on your dress. And this is probably creepy I noticed, but I really like your nail polish. I tend to stick to nude or light pink nail polishes because they chip after I kid you not two hours. Oh and the fact that when I paint my nails it looks like a four year old coloring out of the lines.
ReplyDeleteA Southern Drawl
Haha l LOVE the last part, so funny! I totally do that too when forced to act like an adult! Good job at looking professional, yet still cute and un-stuffy :)
ReplyDeleteYour posts always crack me up. Bonus, you look great! :)
ReplyDeletePretty dress!

Lovely, lovely. Isn't playing nicey nice exhausting? This dress was such a great choice- flattering fit, color and the right balance of spunk and professionalism.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that dress made you look really professional! It's super cute.

That is an amazing dress! Love the shape and the print, it looks fantastic on you :)
ReplyDeleteawayfromtheblue.blogspot.com
Yeah...this definitely describes me at my Christmas work party this year! It's my first year, so all the inside joke shenanigans were just so much to take it. Well played, well played!
ReplyDeleteYes, a scientific conference. It was very intimidating, and my measly one degree did not stand a chance against their 20 :D
ReplyDeleteHaha, not creepy at all! Yeah, lately I've been drawn to light pinks. This is just a cheap Revlon color. I hear ya, my nails are always chipping RIGHT after I paint them... ugh!
ReplyDeleteYou and me both. At my last job, I had to attend networking events on behalf of my boss cause she was too busy, and boy, was it draining! That dress is the perfect length on you. I'm sure you were darling all 3 days!
ReplyDeleteI love shopping for dresses at Ross. Especially Calvin Klein! They fit super well. I'm actually wearing a Calvin Klein dress from Ross as we speak :)
ReplyDeleteYou remind my of "The Help" here. LOVE that movie.
ReplyDeleteI have no abilities to schmooze. None.
Me two nights ago, I had lots of wine - not much help. Dress/Shoes? Awesome finds!
ReplyDeleteAnd I know you looked fab while doing it! What a great dress! :D

i might be slightly obsessed with your hair. so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is really cute Megan. I love the design. Add a jacket, tights and a pair of glasses, your job as a "professional schmoozer" will be even better (hahah)
ReplyDeleteROSS!! is my favorite store too.
